You will need to create your new item listing template page, with all your item details, before launching it to eBay for sale. Here’s how:
NEW LISTING STEPS
Congratulations – you have created a new inventory item for listing! You will want to paste this output code into eBay or into your listing software – see applicable section below.
You can also save this output into a Notepad or Wordpad file (or similar simple text program) to re-use later, if desired.
Your listing description field and terms of sale text fields allow you to use standard HTML tags for formatting text, inserting links, images, or even videos.
To quickly access the Listing Editor’s HTML text edit menu, click the [+] button next to your input field. A small text edit window will pop up, which will allow you to add styling such as bold, underline, font color, etc. with the click of a button.
If you would like to do more, click here for our HTML text formatting tutorial page.
Your image gallery was designed to display a maximum number of product images, per your final approved template mock-up design. Additional product images beyond this number will not appear in the listing template gallery.
Main Gallery Image
The large image display in your listing template is set to a hard-coded width based on the available display space. In order to accommodate images of varying width x height dimensions, the display height of your image will auto-adjust based on the width parameter. If you have product images larger than the display size, they will auto-adjust down with no issues. If you have product images smaller than the display size, they will auto-adjust up – and if there are significant differences in the size, you may see some fuzziness in the image detail. Therefore, you should aim to size all of your product images consistently to the same/similar size as your listing gallery display size.
The thumbnail images in your template gallery will automatically adjust to the correct thumbnail display size.
Extra Gallery Image Spots
If you do not need to use all available image slots, your listing template thumbnails gallery will automatically hide any empty/unused spots and adjust the spacing accordingly.
eBay Image Requirements
eBay requires that all product images are uploaded at a minimum of 500 pixels in size. They also have some other requirements for product images (including use of borders, watermarks, etc.) – click here for the eBay photo requirements info page.
Auto-Hiding Gallery Spots in the Listing Editor
If you do not need to use all available image slots in your template, our Listing Editor will automatically hide any unneeded image spaces for you – simply uncheck the “include this photo” box next to the image field in the Listing Editor. (You must put an image into the first image slot.)
Where To Get the Image URL’s to Input into the Listing Editor Fields
You will need to have an image hosting account online, where you upload your images so they can be viewed by other people across the web. If you don’t have an image hosting account, we recommend PhotoBucket.com for free hosting (great for smaller size businesses) or 1and1.com for a paid hosting account (for sellers with lots of images who need full hosting services).
You will probably have content, including your listing terms of sale, that you will want to save into the template file for regular re-use, rather than enter it separately with each new listing.
This is very easy to do with our Listing Editor – simply:
You now have a new copy of your template, with the terms of sale fields completely filled in, which you can reuse indefinitely.
You can also use this process to make duplicate copies of your listing template with any pre-filled content that you use regularly in your listings.
If you are posting your item directly into eBay via the “Sell Your Item” page, take the following steps:
You can use our Listing Editor along with a third-party listing service. You may need to do this if either (a) your selected third-party listing service does not include the ability to install a custom designed template directly within its software (such as TurboLister), or (b) if you want to include custom input fields or other advanced features not supported by your selected third-party listing service, which our Listing Editor can support.
If you are posting your template output into your TurboLister or other similar third-party listing software, take the following steps:
How can I apply my new template design to my existing eBay listings?
If you currently have live eBay listings that you want to convert to the new design, you can update them individually without having to cancel and relist them. Here’s how:
Is there any way to bulk apply my new listing template design to all of my current live listings on eBay?
Unfortunately, the data that encompasses your individual listing details, which includes the listing template space as well as the item description field and item images, is not available for bulk editing through eBay at this time.
